When it came to history, I couldn’t have had more fun with two very different subjects. I so enjoyed William Fowler’s book on the Seven Years' War (“Empires at War,” -- the first time the world’s major powers all went to war) and loved listening to his Boston accent walk us through those momentous days, which were hugely significant to Canada’s formation.
And as a huge hockey fan, I couldn’t have been more delighted than to have the winning goaltender of Team Canada’s Game Eight win over the Soviets from 40 years earlier anchor our guest list and discussion about the events surrounding that super series. Ken Dryden, Mike Keenan, Bruce Dowbiggin, Dave Bidini, and Alex Shprintsen discussed what was certainly the most important hockey series of my life.
