They call Walter the wash truck over to add even more water. Still no mud. They are confused. They go off looking for answers and find out from Fill the front loader that they were using sand, not dirt. They realize sand and dirt are very different. Dirt and water make mud, but sand and water make... sand castles!

Day after day there is still no green shoot, until we imagine what it is going to be - perhaps a great big beanstalk that provides curly slides and swings! In the end the seed pokes out the smallest of shoots - and we learn from the packet that it will grow up to be a sunflower.

It looks as though Sula will have to hop home until Bing finds a way to turn the bad-bye back into a good-bye again.

It is a busy day in Sodor as Knapford Station is being decorated. EMILY is collecting the flowers for the new window boxes, but when MAVIS does not say hello, EMILY assumes she is sad and chuffs to the quarry to cheer her up with some of the flowers. The flowers end up in the way of the engines' work. EDWARD and THOMAS crash. Slate goes everywhere. MAVIS arrives to find the quarry in a mess. EMILY learns that if she had asked, she would know that MAVIS wasn't sad at all. EMILY tidies the quarry and delivers the flowers, which makes MAVIS really happy.

It's winter on Sodor and the children are busy building a snowman. The children need a hat to complete their snowman and Thomas decides to help. Along the way Thomas takes Farmer McColls hat for the snowman, then he sees the band leader's hat and takes that too. Then he sees Mr Bubbles big colourful hat and takes that for the snowman too. Thomas gets so busy looking for the hat that he forgets to deliver a special parcel to the Fat Controller. Thomas soon realises that none of the hats he has collected are free for the children to use for their snowman. Farmer McColl needs his hat for a game called 'hunt the hat', the brass band leader needs his hat to play in the band, and Mr Bubbles needs his hat to wear in his clown show. Thomas delivers a parcel for the Fat Controller - it's a new Hat! The Fat Controller gives his old hat to Thomas and finally Thomas has a hat to give to the children for their snowman.

After a while Super Koda starts to be a bit disruptive. When he crashes into the new box of biscuits a very annoyed Pedro informs him that he is NOT super. Koda feels let down and glum. But then he rescues a little bird that has fallen from it's nest and everyone agrees that Koda has super hearing and super bravery! He really is super Koda.

Axle, Rex and Sandy the Bulldozer decide to build a jump. They usually have Fill the Front-loader's help, but since Fill is busy helping Strut, they decide to do it without him. The problem is, when they build it the dirt that makes the jump seems to be too soft for Axle to drive on. They try changing the shape of the jump, but that doesn't help. When they drive away looking for answers, Zack comes along the jump and drives over it several times. When they get back they see tire tracks on the jump and realize it works better than it did before. Fill finally joins them and they find out that he always packs down the dirt as the last step in making a jump. That's why it worked better after Zack had driven on it.

When Daring Danny X tries to outdo Everest on his motorized snowboard, he gets stuck in a tree, wakes up a hibernating Momma bear and inadvertently lures her onto the tree with him! Paw Patrol is quick on the scene. Skye air-lifts Danny off, while the pups lure Momma down with honey flavored treats. But the same tempting treats draw the baby bears out of the cave and up into the tree. Now Everest and Marshall must get the bears safely back into their cave.

Thomas decides that he will just have to do everything so he rushes back and forward from Brendham Docks to the Steamworks - helping the Logging Locos and playing a games of hide and seek with Percy. Thomas asks Cranky to help him show the Logging Locos how to be really useful while he is away. Thomas is in the middle of his game of hide and seek but decides he has time to check on Cranky and the Locos. Instead of helping Thomas Cranky has lifted Dash high into the air!!! Not helpful at all. Thomas realises he needs to do one thing at a time so finishes showing the Locos how to be really useful, and then finishes the games of hide and seek with his best friend Percy.

Zack picks out a spot on the ground, but Flynn needs water to land - he's a float plane. The next spot they pick is too small and the spot after that has too many logs floating in it. Only after Zack, Bob and Fran clear the logs does Flynn have a large, open stretch of water to land.

When Chase crosses the ocean to the city of Barkingburg for special guard duty of the Royal Crown, he gets more than he barked for! Sweetie, the spoiled royal pup, steals the crown and plans to use it to crown herself Queen. When Chase discovers her plan, Sweetie locks him in her secret doggie dungeon. With Chase no longer on the case, there's nothing to stop Sweetie's plan. Except for the rest of the paw patrol! Receiving a distress call from Chase, Ryder mobilizes the team. Ryder calls it a "Mission Paw" to save their pup pal, extraordinary action and extraordinary tools are called for. The team boards the Air Patroller and jet to Barkingburg. But Sweetie's ready for them, she leads the team on a wild pup chase throughout the castle delaying them from finding Chase and the Royal Crown. If the team can't retrieve the Royal Crown and rescue their pup pal, Sweetie will become the bad queen pup of Barkingburg.

Jack thinks the kids sudden perfect behaviour is the result of brain damage from a recent haircut. So Jack retrieves their discarded hair (and a little extra for good measure) and contrives a way to plant it back into their heads and repair the damage.

The imposing painting depicts one of the most dramatic scenes from the New Testament, the aftermath of the crucifixion of Christ. Philip Mould has a hunch it might date from the Renaissance, but to prove his theory will require a series of scientific tests to look beneath the layers of dirt for clues to the artist's identity.
