After Doki tells them the story of Theseus and the Labyrinth, Mundi boasts about her 'natural' sense of direction. Gabi is skeptical - she thinks Mundi relies on her ability to fly! To prove her own skill, Mundi suggests they visit a hedge maze in CUMBRIA, ENGLAND. Doki wonders - How do you solve a maze, anyway? On arrival, they split into two teams - Team Riddle (who will look for clues to solve the maze) and Team Speed (counting on speed and Mundi's sense of direction) and set off on a race to solve the maze! In the end, Gabi realizes that it's fair to use ALL your skills, and Mundi admits that it takes more than a 'sense of direction' to solve a maze. --- After auditioning many pets, Fico has decided that the ideal pet for him, is a dolphin. Seems ridiculous at first, but then everyone gets excited. After all, why can't Fico have a dolphin? They fly to the coast of AUSTRALIA to find one - and upon landing, they spook a herd of kangaroos, and Fico decides he wants a kangaroo instead. While Fico and Anabella struggle with the task of returning a lost baby 'roo to the herd, Doki plays with a friendly pod of dolphins and is inadvertently adopted! While Fico learns that caring for exotic pets is harder than it looks, Doki gets a taste of pet ownership... from the other side.

He wants to get on with his very special job. First SPENCER, then HENRY and lastly JAMES come into the Steam Works to be fixed. But THOMAS doesn't listen to what is wrong with them. He sends SPENCER to the hoist, HENRY he claims needs his special coal and orders the spare funnel for JAMES. His unwitting accomplice in all this is KEVIN who is loyal and obedient: but very confused. KEVIN'S confusion peaks in total Steam Works chaos with SPENCER swinging from the hoist hook, HENRY rolling into JAMES and JAMES covering VICTOR in twigs and soot! THOMAS realises he hasn't listened. He puts it all right - and leaves VICTOR to run the Steam Works and KEVIN to recover...!

It's a great day for Sodor! HIRO is returning to the Island. THOMAS and PERCY are very excited. SIR TOPHAM HATT tells THOMAS and PERCY that he is organising a welcome party for HIRO at Knapford. THOMAS is to tell all the other engines to gather at Knapford for it. But...THOMAS decides that getting a welcome present for HIRO would make him even happier. So THOMAS looks for a gift, in vain, at FARMER MCCOLL'S, at the Quarry and at the Steam Works...and he doesn't tell the engines he meets about the party. When THOMAS gets to Knapford, present-less, he sees HIRO alone and realises HIRO is also guest-less! THOMAS is devastated! He rushes back to the places he visited to tell all the engines about HIRO'S party. All gathered at Knapford - at last - HIRO tells THOMAS that the biggest present of all is to be with all the engines - his dear friends!

He proceeds to try out different jobs, but none of them work out. He decides to be guide dog, a guard dog, a herding dog and a sniffer dog, all with less then wonderful results. In fact, the others start to get pretty cranky as he tries out his jobs. Finally Suki and Koda hit on the perfect job for Lucas, Games master as he loves to play and also thinks up great games.

At a junction, THOMAS decides the bees would find the track by the flowery field much prettier! Chaos! The bees swarm to the flowers and won't come back at THOMAS' bidding! THOMAS leaves the hives and chuffs off to 'borrow' HIRO'S flatbed of flowers, to entice the bees back to him. It works except that THOMAS is now covered by a swarm of bees!! Eventually, THOMAS admits his mistake and takes the flower flatbed back to the hives. He then takes the shady track, the bees return to the hives and FARMER TROTTER has his bees and bee hives!
