The clues: A stick with strange writing on it, a rubber duck with "James Naismith" on the bottom, a creepy looking mask The file label: "Sticks and Stones - Bring 'em Together" The investigation: E.B. has a hunch the writing on the stick is Mohawk, so he meets his friend Kyren on the Mohawk reserve to see if he's right. He finds out the word means Lacrosse in Mohawk and the stick is what First Nations people used hundreds of years ago when they first started playing Lacrosse. Even today Lacrosse is an important sport for First Nations people and it's a way to bring the community together. Meanwhile, Kyla discovers James Naismith is the inventor of basketball. But what does a rubber duck have to do with basketball? She heads to the James Naismith Museum to investigate. There she finds out that a game Naismith played in his childhood called Duck on a Rock was the inspiration for basketball. Naismith invented basketball when he was asked by his school to create a sport that the community could play. He used some of the elements of Duck on a Rock to come up with the sport of basketball. The kids deduce this mystery might be about sports. E.B. meets a sports historian/collector and discovers the mask is one of the first hockey goalie masks ever worn. He also finds out that games from many cultures, including Lacrosse, lead to the hockey we know today. E.B. even gets to play goal against Canadian Olympic medalist Nathalie Spooner!

Thomas feels sorry that Bertie doesn't get to travel on the rails so decides to take Bertie on a tour on Sodor by rail. Bertie rolls onto Thomas's flatbed and soon they're off on their adventure. They go to the Fenland and Gordon's Hill. Bertie loves the sights but then realises that he needs to go and collect Dowager Hatt and her friends. He can't be late. Thomas though is having such a good time as tour leader that he doesn't listen to Bertie when he says he needs to get back. Thomas races straight past Dowager and her friends at the bus stop and heads straight for Misty Island. Bertie meets the logging locos and takes Bertie across the Shake Shake Bridge. Chaos ensues as the flatbed rolls away from Thomas and Bertie becomes stuck on the flatbed in the middle of the Shake Shake Bridge. The Fat Controller arrives to find out why Bertie hasn't collected his mother! Thomas realises his mistake and chuffs away fast to ask Harold to rescue Bertie. Thomas then collects Dowager and her friends and brings them to meet Bertie at the Shake Shake Bridge. Dowager and her friends jump into the back of Bertie and the flatbed is reattached onto Thomas. Soon the happy gang race through the countryside as Bertie is pulled along by Thomas. Dowager, her friends, Thomas and Bertie have the best fun ever!

Thomas is given the special of being the Sodor Search and Rescue Engine for the day. He is to collect Bertie, the SSRC Rescue Truck from the Steamworks and then they will work at the SSRC together. Butch has a magnet attached to his crane arm and Thomas thinks it's very exciting to have a magnet like that. Soon they head off from the Steamworks. As they leave Victor tells them that the magnet comes on when the red light is switched on... but Thomas and Butch don't listen properly to Victor. They arrive to the SSRC and Harold asks them to take metal poles to Farmer McColl. Butch and Thomas can't work out how to pick up the poles with the magnet and then the poles crash into the sea! Next they are asked to pick up a wheel for Rosie but again Thomas doesn't pay any attention to the red light and they can't pick up the wheel. The wheel crashes into Rocky. Now the red light switches itself on and Butch gets stuck to Thomas! Thomas realises he should have listened to Victor. Victor tells them again that the magnet is on when the red light is on. This time Thomas and Butch listen and they complete their Rescue jobs effortlessly.

Changing his name to Daring Danny X, the boy attempts to jump 10 cars with his ATV and it's only Ryder and the pups' quick response that prevents him from crashing. Instead of being deterred, DDX decides to amp things up and jump Rattlesnake Canyon. So Ryder must scramble the Air Patroller to conduct a daring mid-air rescue! --- Ryder entrusts the care of Adventure Bay to Robo-Dog while he and the Pups take a well-deserved break. But Robo-Dog goes on a fixing rampage that ends with him souping up the Flounder until it careens around the Bay like a jet. Ryder and the Pups have to cut their vacation short to bring the Flounder home and save Robo-Dog from the watery depths of Adventure Bay.
