Peterborough - Saturday March 2, 2013 - 5:30pm to 7:30pm
For over 40 years TVO’s been bringing important conversations into your home - now we're bringing them into your local bar. Join TVO’s Steve Paikin, the producers of The Agenda and the TVO team for an informal meet and greet, as part of our two-day TVO On the Road: Learning 2030 events in Peterborough. We hope to see you there!
From Trent University in Peterborough, TVO examines how new technologies are affecting the role of teachers in the classroom.
Saturday, March 2
As part of The Agenda’s Learning 2030 special, join us for an important discussion moderated by Steve Paikin, anchor of TVO’s The Agenda and featuring David Newhouse, Chair of Indigenous Studies at Trent University, Ryan DeCaire of Wáhta Mohawk Territory and Jennifer Henry, Post-Secondary Representative on the Provisional Council of the Métis Nation of Ontario.
Kids are invited to build digital literacy skills at the TVOKids Mozilla Hive Pop-Up event. While the kids are letting their imaginations soar building a website, creating a game, or designing an app, parents are invited to the Parents Zone where you can explore the digital future of education.
Sunday, March 3
Steve Paikin hosts a special Big Ideas lecture by author and former University of Toronto dean of education Michael Fullan on the challenges awaiting teachers in making their classrooms open to the technological revolution that is changing the face of education.
The Agenda with Steve Paikin brings together experts and educators to debate and discuss how ready Ontario's teachers are to take on this challenge.
Sunday's programs will be presented live online beginning at 12:30 p.m. ET.
