Finally he tries to make friends with a bird but it also runs away. Percy just can't understand why the animals keep running away from him. As Percy is thinking about this Gordon rushes past and frightens him by going so fast and being so loud. Percy realises that big things can scare little things. So Percy decides to approach the animals again but this time he is very gentle and quiet. Soon the rabbit, the squirrel and the bird have hopped onto Percy's buffer. Percy takes his new friends to meet the other engines.

Edward is given the special job of being the Sodor Search and Rescue Engine at the SSRC. Edward decides that he needs to become a hero if he is to help Harold at the SSRC. Edward thinks that heroes are strong, fast and stern so decides he must be strong, fast and stern too. Edward goes on his mission to become a hero. He helps Charley by being funny, he helps Dowager Hatt by being kind, and helps Farmer McColl's dog by being gentle. Edward though doesn't think he's a hero because he hasn't shown he is fast, strong and stern. When Edward arrives to work with Harold at the SSRC the place is deserted. Edward leaves thinking that he will never help Harold and be a true hero. As Edward chuffs along the tracks he sees people cheering and waving to him and calling him a hero. Word has spread that Edward has been kind, funny and gentle. The Fat Controller tells Edward that he is the biggest hero of all because he is Edward. Edward races of with Harold to the SSRC.

But carrying that many sticks all at once turns out to be harder than expected. --- It takes 10 scoops of dirt to fill up Rex's bucket. That's a long time. Fill decides having a scoop that can hold 10 scoops of dirt will get it done in one go. But a scoop that big is a bit heavy.

But they can't find her. When they return, they find that Fish is back in his bowl - a new, bigger bowl! Rosie tells them that she got a bigger fish bowl for Fish and had taken him out to transfer him to his new bowl. They realize Suki was right - they shouldn't have blamed Lois - and all of them are sorry for the way they behaved. They head back out and apologize to Lois who has no idea why they are being so nice to her!

The PAW Patrol is called in to action find Gilda's mom or dad and get the family back together. When they do find Mom, they have another rescue to complete to get her out of a deep ravine.

A salesperson explains to them that they all have the same amount of money, just in different denominations.

James is asked to be the Sodor Search and Rescue Engine but is horrified when the Fat Controller asks Toby to help him. James says that he doesn't need Toby's help as Sodor Rescue engines are Steam Engines, not Steam Trams like Toby! James chuffs off to rescue Gordon at the Fenland and Toby follows. James says he can save Gordon, whose wheels have come off the track, by pulling him forward, but Toby thinks they should fetch Rocky as Gordon is too heavy. James doesn't listen to Toby and tries to pull him but Gordon's driving wheels now come off the track. Again Toby says they need to get Rocky. Again James ignores him. This time James tries to push Gordon. The Fenland track cracks and Gordon falls but James still refuses to take Toby's advice to get Rocky to help them. James tries once more and sends Gordon and himself flying into the fenland mud. At last James realises that he needs Toby's help and asks him to go and fetch Rocky. James says that Toby is the best Rescue Tram on the whole of Sodor.

Back on Earth, Vulture gets wind of the find. Wanting the glory for himself, he quickly rehires his former sidekick and, on a wing-shake of ,newfound trust,, they're reunited. Space explorers are granted the honor of naming their discoveries... so Dodo cheerfully names his ,Vulture Lake,... which, to Vulture's chagrin, turns out to be the stinkiest lake in the solar system!

When the ice in Hudson Bay melts each spring, northern Ontario becomes home to nearly a thousand polar bears, but scientists are noticing extreme weight loss among that population. Between 1984 and 2009, the average weight of a male polar bear in the region dropped by 45 kilograms, while females were 31 kilograms lighter. A shorter freeze-up season means less time to access vital food sources, and that puts Ontario's polar bear population at risk.
