Our Pteranodon family accompanies Mr. Conductor to the Troodon Town Roundhouse to meet up with Thurston Troodon, the Rocket Train's conductor. They all soon learn that Tricia Troodon - a younger, hotshot conductor -- actually invited everyone there to see her new train - the Solar Train! The kids learn that it's powered by the sun! To test the trains' performances, the three Conductors, along with the help of Buddy, Tiny, Shiny and Don, have a race to the Triassic between the Dinosaur Train, Thurston's Rocket Train and Tricia's new Solar Train! --- Buddy and Tiny give Elliot Enantiornithine, a first timer on the Dinosaur Train, a tour of the Train. When they go through Laura Giganotosaurus' car, she explains to them that today is her bird watching/drawing day, but she hasn't found a single bird to watch. But, there's Elliot. He hams it up for Laura, who watches and draws him. This is so fun that Buddy and Tiny bring Laura to meet another bird friend-- Arlene Archeopteryx. Then Arlene and Elliot introduce the kids and Laura to a new bird named Peng Protopteryx! It's a successful birdwatching/drawing day as all three birds are delighted to show off their unique feathers.

Now deemed a hero for his actions, Hawk realizes R 2 that he prefers to be guided by what really counts: what's inside. He schedules a new paint job and to everyone's relief, emerges looking like his old self.

Once she finds the centre of the triangle, and the location that matches it, the kids head to an abandoned building. Inside, they discover the building wasn't always abandoned and it once may have been a laboratory where Anne's Mom worked. But that's not all they find. In a locker they find a hard drive containing complicated designs left for Anne by her Mom. Anne's not sure she's ready to start building whatever the designs are for but, when she's ready, her friends will be there to help.

The clues: An old photo of Montgomery's Inn, a small square plastic dish, a prop fish on a stick The file label: "Dash and Dine". The investigation: The kids look up the words "dash and dine" and the results show that the expression is actually "dine and dash". It means to run out on a bill without paying. So Kyla wonders if Hermione mixed up the words on her file label and she meant to write about stealing. But E.B. thinks the mystery might be about food. They split up the clues and head off to investigate. Kyla discovers that Montgomery's Inn is now a museum. But it used to be a place where travelers could rent rooms and get basic meals. Hermione even used to stop by for afternoon tea and gingerbread! Kyla helps make gingerbread the old-fashioned way and finds out that Hermione always paid her bill at Montgomery's Inn. So this mystery probably isn't about stealing. E.B. finds out that the plastic dish is a container from an airplane. So he heads to Gate Group, an airline services company. There, he meets Chef Russell who tells him that the dish is from an airplane meal. E.B. checks out the massive kitchen where airplane meals are made. He finds out that this kitchen makes about 8 million meals a year for people flying all over the world! The chef challenges E.B. to put together all the pieces that make up the completed airplane meal the chef has set out. E.B. completes the puzzle and discovers that airplanes are kind of the restaurants of the sky. Meanwhile, Kyla finds out that the prop fish on a stick clue is from a dinner theatre called Famous People Players. At the dinner theatre, she discovers that Famous People Players hires developmentally challenged people to work in the kitchen and put on a show that features giant puppet props. Kyla helps out in the kitchen for the pre-show dinner and gets to lift the curtain for the night's performance. Every night, Famous People Players prepare meals and put on a show for hundreds of people. Some of those people even come from out of town just to enjoy the experience.

When a new little fish is brought to the daycare, it prompts Suki to remember Lucas's first day. She tells the others the story- in a flash back sequence - of Lucas first day,. We learn that Lucas didn't want to come to daycare at first. In fact, he did everything he could to avoid it. Finally, he agreed to stay if he could bring his owner's slipper with him. He stayed in the slipper at first, but little by little got used to the daycare as it was great fun and everyone was kind to him. And when Pedro was sad because his favourite Liver Nummie was almost lost, it was Lucas who cheered him up and convinced him how great daycare was. Everyone enjoys the story, especially Lucas who remembered nothing of his first day, as he was so little.

Oto thinks they need a floating clubhouse... but how do you build a floating house? Luckily, a club member named Omar is building a floating house right now. He invites the Team down to LAKE TITICACA, BOLIVIA, to see for themselves! There, the Team helps Omar build a traditional reed house, atop a floating island which is ALSO made of totora reeds. But when Oto and Mundi experiment with a reed-harvesting device, will anything be left afloat?
