But the work is hard, and Doki and Gabi struggle to live up to their own expectations. It's only after they use teamwork to stop a runaway chuckwagon that they realize what makes a 'real' cowboy. --- One hot day, Gabi jokes that it's 'hot enough to fry an egg on the sidewalk', and Doki's ears prick up. Could we really fry an egg on the sidewalk? Curious, they try it - and fail. But Doki thinks it might work, if they were in the place on earth that's closest to the hot sun. So they fly off to CHIMBORAZO, EQUADOR! There, a local hat vendor takes them up the Chimborazo, (a dormant volcano) to try the egg-speriment. They're surprised to discover that the closest place on earth to the sun... is freezing cold!

Turns out Robyn got the dates mixed up: the comet won't appear for another four months. Starling is crestfallen, and now convinced that she'll fail. But there's still a way to see a comet that night... just not from Earth! Eagle leads the way as they race through space, dodging meteorites and other obstacles that Starling has learned to navigate. They finally see Halley's Comet, and Starling gets to make her wish after all. When Headmaster Crane learns of her brave skills on their trip, he decides that she's already passed the flight test!

Instead of being deterred, DDX decides to amp things up and jump Rattlesnake Canyon. So Ryder must scramble the Air Patroller to conduct a daring mid-air rescue! --- Ryder entrusts the care of Adventure Bay to Robo-Dog while he and the Pups take a well-deserved break. But Robo-Dog goes on a fixing rampage that ends with him souping up the Flounder until it careens around the Bay like a jet. Ryder and the Pups have to cut their vacation short to bring the Flounder home and save Robo-Dog from the watery depths of Adventure Bay.

Zack, Lily and Rex are racing back to Zerby Town when Rex gets stuck under a fallen tree. Zack and Lily try to push him out but he's truly stuck. Zack tries to pull while Lily pushes, but still no luck. They think that digging down would work, until they realize Rex is on rock, not dirt. Finally they realize that if Rex takes some air out of his tires, he will lower down enough to get out from under the log. --- Chase the helicopter is having a hard time taking off from his landing pad on a very windy day on Zerby Town Ridge. Zack comes by and tries to help. They spot which way the wind is coming from by using leaves, but the wind changes direction when Chase rises into the air. They call Mika the Mechanic and she brings a leaf tail - a few leaves tied on a string - to help them see which way the wind is blowing. But the leaf tail needs to be at the right spot to help them see the wind. On the ground doesn't work, neither does the spot on the trunk of a tree. They find it works best when it's high-up and in the open. --- Zack and Rex try to cross a mud pit on a log. But the log is wet from the rain and is too slippery for them to get across without falling in the mud. They try going slow, but that doesn't work. Rex tries dropping sand on the log, but the sand he drops when he drives forward doesn't get under his wheels and he falls off. When he tries dropping the sand by going backwards, he can't see where he's going and ends up in the mud again. When they go off looking for answers, Zack discovers that a second log placed against the first keeps them from falling off, no matter how slippery both logs are. With Strut's help they place a log alongside the first and it keeps them from sliding sideways.

They try to distract him with a series of funny games and activities to take him mind off it - and the distraction works. In fact, when they play a tight rope game the cone keeps him looking straight ahead which helps him keep his balance. He realises that maybe it isn't so bad after all!

Meanwhile, Eagle locates Spirit buried in a sand pile. As he unearths the damaged robot, he unexpectedly finds himself assisted by a small rover mutt, who helps him to dig. But who is he, and what is his purpose? The little rover trails after him like a faithful pet... so Eagle names him ,Rover, and brings him home. At Stardust Bay, Curiosity and Opportunity are prepared for their new assignments, but Eagle's pet Rover's fate is uncertain. It's only once Spirit is repaired that the truth emerges: the little Rover is Spirit's assistant!

Ryder and the pups take the big boat out to rescue Cap'n Turbot and the Flounder, but no sooner is that done when tentacles are causing big trouble at the beach! As the pups rescue the beachgoers, we see that a baby octopus is on the loose and its near-sighted momma is simply trying to rescue it. Clever Ryder and the pups reunite the family and even help the mom see better!
